A warm welcome to Saint Ann’s Church. Our website is new and under development so please keep visiting.
St Ann’s is a small but friendly church in which everyone is valued and welcomed.
The Grade One Listed Church of St Ann was built in 1767-1768 in a dignified English Renaissance manner from designs by William Newton, the most successful Newcastle architect of his day.
The new church was consecrated by Bishop Trevor on Friday 2nd September 1768.
Our Priest- in- Charge is the Reverend Canon Allan Marks.
Coronavirus Notice for Saint Ann 2020
A message from Father Allan
As you will be aware by now, Public Worship in our churches has been suspended indefinitely due to the growing impact and spread of the Coronavirus.
I am very sorry, and know this will come as a great blow to you all as it does to me, but this does not in any way stop us from continuing our work as a church. Our sense of being God’s Family and a Community Together at a time like this, needs to be strengthened in our life at prayer, now at home, as we seek to care for others and express something of our Love for all people everywhere.
We have produced a Daily Prayer Leaflet which we hope you all will use, as well as a few prayers we can use to pray for others at this time.
Both Father Thomas and myself will be in touch with as many of you as we can on a regular basis by telephone.
At All Times we will be observing the guidelines from the government regarding social distancing and hygiene, and also to protect those who are amongst the most vulnerable we will be taking note of the advice regarding those who are asked to self isolate because of age or vulnerability due to health issues
We will be praying for you and for the many who are working so hard to bring an end to this aggressive virus, and we send our Love and our Prayers to you and in the coming days and weeks.
Yours in Christ, Father Allan X

Support those in need:
Support the work of local foodbanks using local supermarket where donations will be delivered direct to foodbanks. If people want to make donations locally, I will try and do a weekly drop of donations to the Benwell Foodbank who distribute across the whole of the city, both east and west ends. Alternatively we can make donations of cash to:
